Refund & Cancellation Policy

In short

CertPilot AI is currently free to use. Once paid subscriptions launch: cancel anytime from your account settings, your access continues until the end of the period you already paid for, and South African and EU/UK consumers have additional legal cooling-off rights described below.

1. Current free phase

CertPilot AI does not currently charge for access. This policy describes how billing, cancellation, and refunds will work once paid subscriptions launch, so it is in place before that happens rather than added after the fact.

2. Cancel anytime

Once subscriptions are live, cancelling will work like this:

  1. Sign in and go to your account settings;
  2. Select "Manage subscription";
  3. Choose "Cancel subscription" and confirm.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access until then, and you are not charged again afterwards. No phone call or email is required.

3. South African cooling-off (ECTA)

If you are a South African consumer, section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act gives you a 7-day cooling-off right after subscribing, during which you may cancel and receive a full refund, provided you have not substantially used the Service in that period.

4. EU/UK right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Union or United Kingdom, you ordinarily have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract for a full refund.

Because CertPilot AI is digital content delivered to you immediately on payment, this right is lost only if you expressly consent, at checkout, to immediate access and acknowledge that doing so waives your withdrawal right. That consent checkbox is presented by our merchant of record as part of checkout — if you do not tick it, your 14-day right of withdrawal still applies.

5. How refunds are paid

All payments are processed by a third-party merchant of record, acting as merchant of record. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method through that merchant of record, typically within their standard processing timeframe.

6. Fair use

Cooling-off and withdrawal rights are intended for consumers who change their mind, not for repeated subscribe-consume-refund cycles. Where we reasonably believe a refund request is part of a pattern of abuse (for example, extensively using the question bank before immediately requesting a refund, repeated more than once), we may decline the refund to the extent permitted by law.
